What Kind of Muppet Are You?

Living in the modern, busy, responsible, politically correct, hard working and boring Ireland of the 00's (pronunciation? anyone??) isn't exactly compatible with some people. If you are one of those who believes that there is more to life than work, commitment, responsibility and lane-discipline you have probably been called a "muppet" by now. Like me, you may even have been challenged with the question, "What kind of Muppet are you?!".

Now I've found the answer. As with all answers there's a website that spells it out for you. Also, they don't regard being a "muppet" as a bad thing. At last a voice for muppets! Which Sesame Street Muppet Are You? - http://powersugoi.net/quiz/ssm.php - will answer that ultimate question into the nature of modern existence.

For those of you interested, below is my result. While I'm not surprised, I can say that I've learned a little about myself today. Give it a shot...

Apparently I'm also a BUG type Pokemon and Su from Love Hina.

Andrea starts blogging...

It took some persuasion but I finally convinced Andrea to start her own blog. I can't say I'm surprised to discover she has a lot more to say than I have, at least going by her first post. I think her blog will probably be more interesting than mine!

More Space for Pictures

I have posted lots more pictures to our photo album. (I don't know who actually looks at it, but if you are friends or family you might be included in some of the shots.) They aren't new pictures (as in recently taken) but ones I didn't have room for and hadn't gotten around to putting up before.

  • Last Christmas

  • Violeta's Last Holiday in Ireland

  • Kathleen's 50th Birthday

  • Assorted Dun Laoghaire Pics (includes a couple of Paula)

  • It turns out I have 100MB more web space than I thought, I completely forgot about the 100 MB of web space included in my ISP broadband account from UTVInternet! So now I have lots more room for pictures.

Holidays in Brazil - 2 Weeks Time!

We will be in Brazil from Saturday, 3rd until Saturday, 17th of July.

We'll be staying in Leblon with Violetta (+55 21 2274 3425) and going to the usual spots:

    • Devassa - Leblon's mini-brewery
    • Natraj - A rare Indian Restaraunt
    • Acadamia de Cachaca
    • Porcao

Not to mention the Japanese place in Ipanema, the Irish Pub, and we've heard there's a good Tapas / Paella bar. I'm hoping to do at least one tourist thing we done some years ago, a jeep tour of Tijuca forest.

All in addition to the usual unscheduled drinking and partying!

Seeing as it is a cold Winter in Rio and a hot summer in Ireland, I doubt we'll notice any change in the weather. My days will be spent lying around reading some new books (Crazy Horse & Custor, The Last Kabbalist of Lisbon) and playing gameboy games (Pokemon Ruby, Yoshi's Island).

I've just been told that O2 still don't have roaming in Brazil, so my mobile won't work. What a pity...

    Bored in Beaumont

Andrea is having her MS clinic today in Beaumont hospital. This normally
consists of waiting around for two to three hours and talking to doctors
for ten minutes. But we are used to it now and we came prepared. Andrea
has her Love Hina manga books, and for me there is this PalmPilot and my
gameboy. As I write this we are in the clinic waiting room. The trick
today is to write a blog entry on the Palm (using Eudora mail) and send
it via my Siemens mobile with IR to the phone and GPRS to O2 and the
Internet. If you are reading this then it all worked. I can commuincate
to the world from anywhere with nothing more than the contents of my
pocket. (Yes, I'm a nerd, but I'm not harming anyone.) Getting back to
health matters, Andrea is doing well in general, her energy level is
coming back up after the anaemia, though her eye never returned to
normal. As for me my knee improves daily and my pneumonia is gone.
Aren't we a sad pair, like a couple in our 80s!

    Ciaran & Kathleen's Barbecue

Only about 10 pictures came out OK, the lense got smudged at one point, not to mention Ciaran didn't stay still while taking the pictures.

This is where I dislocated my kneecap. Thats why I wasn't taking more pictures.

    More pictures...

    Kneecap

(Testing to see how the email interface works...)

My leg is a lot better also, thanks for asking. What was I thinking? The
last time I played football my kneecap dislocated, and after 8 years it
happened again. I think I should just avoid sports.

Dislocated kneecap and pneumonia - thats all that happened to me recently -
    a bit unlucky I guess...

    Pneumonia Update

Sunday morning and I'm feeling fine. Bright sunny day in Dun Laoghaire. It has been a week since I was rushed to hospital and four days since they let me go home. The anti-biotics seem to be working. I expect to be back in work on Tuesday. I hope to get outside today, I'm going crazy stuck inside all this time.
